Frequently Asked Questions from Birth Parents

  • Do I get to choose a family? Can I meet them?
YES. Most birth parents choose the adoptive family for their child and meet them at least once prior to the placement. Some continue to meet even after adoptive placement. We have many different kinds of families to choose from. They come from a variety of religious, ethnic, and lifestyle backgrounds. What really matters is what is important to you.
  • How will I know my baby is OK?
You can receive photographs, updates, telephone calls, and visits.
  • Does the birthfather need to be involved?
YES. If at all possible, we encourage his participation.
  • What if I change my mind?
All of your options remain open to you until you sign the adoption surrender. We will support you no matter what you decide.
